YIU’s Department of Environmental Science fosters professionals who are able to understand the issues of human health and environmental pollution, and who can prevent the spread of, and treat, environmental pollutants. The talents nurtured by the department also learn how to detect and respond to problems of air pollution, water pollution, soil pollution, waste pollution, and other environmental pollution destroying the environment. Students can become certified engineers tackling water, air, waste and soil pollution, and engineers in river restoration. Graduates can move on to environmental public service, postgraduate school and research institutes, startup entrepreneurship, a range of corporations, and more.
